A team that was in the top ten in 5 on 5 goals should not be at the bottom when it comes to 5 on 4 goals.

That's not the lack of a elite player, that's a coaching issue

Yeah.

That's the concerning thing. But also a good thing. Because the habs start the season and the PP is the same PP we saw last year, we know this team just isn't going to make it.

fans are usually pretty bad at player evaluation

he was okay when big buff was carrying him and useless when he wasn't

we were probably better off going waiver wire shopping than signing a 7th Dman for 3 years

I just don't know why we should expect the PP to be any different. We tried to fix it all season last year to no avail. We have the same players this year and the same coaches, I just don't know where we can expect the improvement to come from.

Bingo.

All this talk about lineups, who's on the team, who isn't , what other teams are doing, it is all completely irrelevant until the habs fix the power play. They aren't making the playoffs with a powerplay as putrid as the one last season. Simple

We had career years and were a solid 5/5 scoring team , with a putrid PP

The first 2 more than made up for a lousy PP

The optimist would say, growth & progression of certain elements of the PP, mainly experience gained last season by Domi & KK, who BTW is the only player with potential to become a PP QB

KK is the big hope for an improved powerplay.

I think it's unrealistic expectations on KK to have him fix the PP by himself as a 19 years old.

Sure, but being good in those other two didn't more than make up for a putrid powerplay, unless the goal at the start of the season was to finish just outside of the playoffs.
