Trade Deadline 2024

That was one of Bergevin’s many flaws. His strategic incoherence meant he was unwilling to seize the day when the Habs had out of worldly goaltending and players like Markov, Subban and Pacioretty. Vanek was an attempt, I’ll grant that. But they should have been far more aggressive.

Instead we wound up drafting McCarron and Scherbak while Desharnais was 1C.

Trading 2012 3OA for Jordan Staal + 2013 1st rounder for Niederreiter might’ve helped change fortunes..

Not elite talents but adding to the cores age bracket at the time w upgrade in size & skill
 
American teams always seem to make the bigger splash. Lets see if Vancouver can do something about that and get Guentzel.

Hindsight is 20/20, but if The Charlatan had the same level of aggression when he got here that the Vegas crew has? I think with a core of Price, Subban, MaxPac in their primes would have won.

especially in 2017 but yep could have done more in 2014
 
Here’s my speculative bullshitty prediction:

We’ll be part of a three team trade with NJ and LAK. We’ll ship out Pearson and retain salary on Toffoli so he can repatriated to lala land too. We’ll get a mid-round pick and someone to help Laval.
