Unlike Mitch, McDavid isnt chasing dollars, he's chasing Cups. So for him to leave Edmonton he would need to go to a team that has a better chance than they do of winning. What have the Leafs done in reality (not in the we woulda beat Florida if...world, but actual reality) that proves they have a better shot of winning? There simply is no case.

The Leafs best player is Matthews and he's not as good as Draisaitl. The Oilers, for all their flaws, got to the finals twice. The Leafs, despite all of their so called advantages, both real and imagined, cant get past one round most years and never past two rounds. So how do they get 97 closer to his ultimate goal?

Simply put, they don't, which is why McDavid is never coming. He'll end up with Marner on his wing in Vegas before he ever becomes a Leaf.

Connor wants to win. The Leafs do not give him a better shot at winning than his current club, ergo he's never coming to Toronto. He will likely chase a Cup with a stacked tax free team. After he's basically washed up as a player, then he might decide to ride into the sunset in blue and white. But he wont be a difference maker by then.

Yes, it gives you a unique window into my soul to know what I watched on tv when I was 7 years old, you dickhead.

Do you realize you're replying to all these other guys and they don't even see it? I didn't realize that till today, and eventually you will bore me enough to block you and then you can spend endless hours typing replies that go straight into limbo. I don't know why I haven't yet, but it's imminent.
 
Looking at the names out there already rumoured and the potential of Jarnkrok, Kampf, Reaves, Robertson, potentially Mcmann and Domi to trade away., tre could really do a number on this team.

Jeannot, mangiapane, and Tanev to replace Jarnkrok, Kampf and Reaves would be huge.
This is just through UFA.
 
Ehlers, Roy and Maccelli for a little more than what we would have to pay Marner would be good. That’s a whole line.

And all those guys would be tradable if an opportunity to replace Marner/get a D comes along.

For 7 years we’ve had 4 good players and a bunch of shit no one wants.
