I was listening to Craig Button and he suggest that when a player signs a contract and has a no trade clause, if he asks for a trade then that no trade clause should be no longer be in effect and the team can trade him any where.. I think that is fair and should apply to limited ntc

In the NBA/NFL/MLB I think you have 10-15 players in total with a no trade clause allowing flexibility
