GDT: Stanley Cup Final Game 6 Canes @ Vegas 6/14 8:00

Still not enough respect for Slavin, but ok. There's always next year,
I know where you're coming from and I thought Slavin was fantastic last night! He did look at times all season like that knee was still limiting him a bit, I had Miller as perhaps being the Canes best defenseman in the post season, and that is not taking anything away from 74, I just felt like Miller never really played a bad game all playoffs long on the back end. Jordo was every bit deserving of that MVP trophy though.

What I really appreciated was how we won. It was tough, physical hockey, but it wasn't the cheap, take a shot-after-the-whistle, WWE style hockey that Florida and Tampa Bay seem to need. We looked like the Canes those last 3 games, controlling the play in the Vegas end for most of the game (by eye - I don't have the possession stats). And for all those nay-sayers who said we need a goon - wrong. And for people who thought Logan Stankhoven was too small to be a 2C - wrong. We believe in Rod, and we believe in this team. It feels so good!

I’ve gotta say … words are failing me a little today. I’ve loved this team right from Game 1, loved the tweaks that Tulsky made last summer and it’s all just a little much. Just a magical season capped off by a ridiculous 16-3 playoffs. So many unlikely things happened, but under it all was a terrific roster and a staff that had a plan for how to get ‘em here. Not just because they won the Cup, this is probably my favorite Hurricanes team. Thanks guys. Enjoy the plane ride home

Well said JB, these Cup runs can be a grind and rip your heart out at times but this one was just different, everything just seemed so special with this team!!!

The view looks great from the top of the mountain! Savor it while you've got it.

This bunch of players all bought in to the system, sacrificed, and ran with it. Kudos to the Coaching staff, especially Rod Brindamour, who assembled this team under the shield of his style of drive and play. Without RBA, there'd be no Stanley Cups in Raleigh. Thanks to Tom Dundon for enabling this team to achieve their highest goals and keeping them near the top for his entire tenure as owner. Thanks also to all Hurricanes fans. I love how many stickers I see on vehicles, ball caps, T-shirts, mailbox flags, and yard signs I see throughout the region. Way to represent, LOUD CROWD!!!

So, does Bussi do a chocolate fountain in the Stanley Cup for his wedding....I sure as hell would.
Don’t forget that Can Ward got married right after the 2006 Final. He didn’t bring the Conn Smythe with him.

As my father reminded me on my wedding day, you’re only the 3rd most important person in the room. Bride, her mother then you. Maybe.
