Was getting a bagel in the old blockbuster plaza. Thought it was a movie preview on tv at first when I first saw the crashes being replayed.

If you can't remember exactly what you were doing on 9/11, you shouldn't be president today (you're either too young or too old). I was in high school in Calgary, and I remember my morning alarm news initially reported about a plane hitting the WTC, and I remember assuming it was just some tiny single engine thing. Then about 10-15 minutes later the radio announcers basically were like "please stop listening to us and turn on your TV right now".
First period in school was normal, but then by the second period, my history teacher basically said "this is the biggest event in recent history" as he wheeled in a TV for us to just watch the news coverage, rather than go on with whatever lesson was originally scheduled.
