If things get better with them a bit in the short-term, that's nice and I'll enjoy it while it lasts, like the Trump interregnum from 2021-2024. But they're always one election cycle and a few disgruntled voters in swing states away from electing a dangerous imbecile. And it's not exactly like Americans have taken to the streets en masse in anger and protest over the current imbecile's overt faciscm at home and abroad, and his previous and ongoing attempts to annex some of America's neighbours through threats, intimidation and economic warfare.

So whatever happens going forward, Canada as a country should keep that in mind. There is not some great groundswell of freedom, rule-of-law and democracy-loving Americans riding to our aid, so it's up to Canada to protect itself.

We should never go back. But the USA remaining a democracy will make it so much easier.

We need more time to prepare and react to fascism south of us.

Any insurance plan can only work if zero event participants are paying into the pool. They are deliberately removing the healthy cohort to claim the system is unsustainable and need to be totally dismantled?

I mean, private insurance only wants the non-claimants!

Collecting revenue and not paying it out is kind of the model of how insurance is profitable.
