As I recall, he was mostly notable for being a decent 2nd pair D with Tampa for a handful of seasons who then walked away from the game in the middle of his prime due to issues with anxiety & depression.

Then a few years later, he made a comeback with the Marlies before playing with the Leafs the next season. He was ok with us, but the Leafs hired Shanny that off-season and the team went in a different direction. So Ranger went and had a brief cup of coffee in Europe before deciding to retire from hockey again.

I don't even see Roslovic as the replacement. More like we used his money on Blueger or whatever.

Don't see how Robbie on the third line and as a potential top sixer in case of injury was a bad thing to have.

The fact that Messier himself was such a notorious hard-ass as both a leader and a player really adds quite a bit more weight to this.

If I’d had to guess, I would’ve thought that Messier’s opinion would be that Babcock is fine, and the players complaining are a bunch of woke pansies.

But instead, here is is saying that the firsthand accounts he heard from players he respects and trusts about Babcock were beyond the pale and that he’s shocked at the hiring.
