The one player we cannot afford to lose, well one of two is Nick (other is Lane and lesser extent Cole) Others are replaceable, but you do not replace a top 10 centre or a top 10 dman, just doesn't happen. Can we maybe win 1/2 of the games he is out, questionable. I figure it will be closer to six weeks so maybe upward of 20 games. We are in 7th now, and blowing those games at home to Nashville and San Jose, as well as in Pittsburgh/Washington really hurt. We cannot fall too far behind as teams do not catch up much with 3 point games. We need to be no worse than 5th to get into the playoffs. I know this much, no one in the press will cut us any slack, unlike what they do for other teams. Fans of other teams will shit on us too, Dobes and Fowler can no longer give up shithead goals and our meatheads need to stop taking dumb late penalties to cost us. Maybe if we can stay no further than 6-8 points out by time Nick is back, we have a shot. Anything else, and we might as well start running draft simulations

They said 2-4 weeks, no reason to assume 6.
 
I get why 2C might be hard to close, but not RD. It’s not like we needed another Dobson like trade, not that pricey. Seems to me there were and are options.

Guhle returned a week ahead of schedule, Engels says Demi should be back next week. Matheson should play tomorrow. I'm not sure what you're talking about.

They don’t really need a RHD tho

It would be nice, but we had the same configuration most of last year (Dobson/Carrier) and Hutson playing on the right side.

Let’s play our number one D on his wrong side. That’s a plan.

They needed a RD to play minutes on the PK, a veteran. Someone who CAN play with our Number one D. Right now, they have nobody. It is a glaring weakness acknowledged by all pundits.

As for the centre position, they gambled and lost.
