GDT #13: 2026/10/24 - Loilers

print it out, hang it in the ROM and take a selfie with for the twerp in California
I’ll put it right next to the selfie he sent with your wife bent over in front of him.

Also if you’re keeping score at home, we’ve played 4 more games than them, Knies doesn’t play with Matthews or Nylander, and their top scorer is Charlie Coyle with 8 points.

• Here is McDavid on former Erie Otters teammate and fellow GTA product Darren Raddysh, far and away Toronto’s ice-time leader at 23:42 per night:

“Raddy’s an unbelievable guy. I played with him in minor hockey, junior. People don’t expect much from him — at least when we were younger — and he’s always been such an amazing player. So smart. He was always as good player, and it’s taken him a while to work up to where he is. I’m so happy for him that he’s got a great deal playing for his hometown team. He’s finally getting that recognition he deserves. Honestly, since we were kids, it’s been this way. He's kinda just been the forgotten guy, always quietly going about his business and doing his job. Really happy for him.”

Hard to recall the last Leafs team with a positive 'we love eachother' culture like this all the way through the lineup. Maybe one of the early Matthews teams before they committed to the choking losers path?

And no doubt Berube sapped the life out of this team's star players, with no hope coming from the dolt GM. Bleak as fuck and no wonder AM was contemplating his future. Mats was probably shaking his head during the post season interviews.

I know everyone on the team loved Mitch (or so they say), but you'd have to think his constant need to please his father, and be relevant in the media would have sucked the life out of the room.

I'm no sports psychologist, but I don't see the emotional changes to the team being solely on the departure of Berube/Treliving. I dunno, maybe the problem was Jarnkrok...?
