Habs News & Notes: 2019 Offseason

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2018-19 Regular Season

That second unit looks better than the first. Agostino? Armia? What's the plan, have both park in front of the net waiting from bombs from Weber? Gee, that's new...

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2018-19 Regular Season

KK should be on that top line for a 10 game or so stint . Team cant score right now , see what he can do .

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2018-19 Regular Season

The team has a few decent little players, but they really need a stud up front like a Blake Wheeler or a Ryan O'Reilly.

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2018-19 Regular Season

New PP units as well in today's practice

Agostino
Weber - Byron - Armia
Drouin

Gallagher
Kotkaniemi - Tatar - Domi
Petry

That setup is so horrible one the guys in the face off circle missed the one timer, it clears the zone.

And the habs have terrible zone entry.

That setup works if you have ovechkin at the left circle, but teams like the habs shouldn't be using it.

The Canadiens registered their 3,500th victory in franchise history last night against the Colorado Avalanche. (Stats include team playing in the National Hockey Association from 1910 to 1917)

2 wins shy from 3,400 in the National Hockey League.
1rst in the NHL.

Boston are 2nd in the NHL with 3,141 wins.

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2018-19 Regular Season

One thing that both the Lightning and the Canadiens have in common :

Neither team has ever signed a UFA superstar in the modern era NHL.

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2018-19 Regular Season

Technically that’s not true, they’ve signed their own players that were UFA.

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2018-19 Regular Season

No UFA that was not originally drafted by the team à la John Tavares to Toronto.

But yeah, pretty hard to find comparable between those two franchises.
All differences.
From history and records, to drafting and philosophies !

How’s Juulsen doing in Laval - callup in the next few weeks / post deadline?

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2018-19 Regular Season

Renaud Lavoie:
Andrew Shaw (neck injury) is not back on the ice yet, but he’s doing some off ice training. No timetable for his return.

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2018-19 Regular Season

This is this year to trade Shaw

If teams are interested as many speculate I would pull the trigger.

The guy misses alot of games each year and his value is probably at its peak right now with the numbers he's put up so far.

It's a buyer's market this year. Don't expect many trades or value for the ones that are done.

Ever think you'd see this?
