Why would Don care about being a pariah in Seattle?I assume he’s joking. He’d also be a social pariah in a place like Seattle if he likes Olive Garden.

I know, hence my comment.Sorry, I thought you were the OG fan.

I've been to OG for the first time last year. I've had worse, it's ok.
what are they going to get in return? What will the owners give up because NFL might have no guaranteed contracts but they have huge signing bonuses and other guaranteed money.

You eat at Olive Garden?
Yuck
What's a Seattle?
So again the owners need the players to protect the owners from themselves. They get guaranteed salaries , there will be a lockout in 2020 no doubt.
It will be about term and trade clauses . They will get 4-5 years and significant reductions in clauses handed out .
You can't have your top players all run the asylum .
No need to go after guarantee contracts these 2 tweaks is all you need.
Those signing bonuses in the NFL are great if your a good player who earned it . Slugs like Alzner and 200 other players would be cut in a second in an NFL structure payout system and would be lucky to be employed again .
The second your deemed expendable due to poor play , decline , or a douche in the dressing room your gonzo in the NFL when that 4rth rounder making 300k is 5x cheaper than you .
You don't need radical changes .....shorter terms and trade clause reductions is all the the new CBA needs.
Players will still kiss the ice they are playing on when 95% of the players have nowhere to go to make millions .
If we did not have Alzner i would feel better about this Lucic thing.
The issue is how many old declining players can you have making big money in 4 years.
Alzner, Price, Weber, Lucic...then you need to sign your hopefully currently young/undrafted stars.
Now if you plan is to suck hard for 4-5 years okay. Lets look at what we can get for Price and Weber.
I am not worried about Lucic's contract in year 1 or 2...it is from 3-5 i worry.
Which is why edmonton wants him gone...they are hoping to contend now.

he's listed at 5'9 and most add inches to height in those circumstances.
Bouillon was not 5'8
So pretty much everyone else at the combine got measured exactly or less than an inch from the listings but Hughes (who skipped the combine because he was at the worlds) would be the exception.
https://thehockeywriters.com/2018-nhl-combine-heights-weights/
So no different from 5'11 which is no different from 6'0.

I would be more concerned if he was 150 pounds
Krug , Mete, Spurgeon maybe small can handle themselves at 170 plus pounds
If we draft Hughes lets see when he shakes Pipe`s hand who is no bigger than 5`8"
