2019 Free Agent Season

Every year Sal thinks the Habs will be big buyers in Free Agency. Yet, every year (with the exception of Alzner and Radulov) the Habs do very little this time of year.

The Habs make trades, they don't do well in Free Agency.

This is Bergs 8th year as the Habs GM, he's not an unknown at this point. We all know what he does OK and what he fails at.

I fully expect we'll end up with Gardiner by offering him the sun & moon.

Which is a great way to stay mediocre for a long time, which seems to be the anyway.

The thing I may like most about today is that Toronto may not be a better team than when they lost to Boston.
 
Frank Seravalli Expectation is Tyler Myers and #Canucks are closing in on a 5-year, $30 million deal to be signed Monday - as @DarrenDreger reported earlier was in the works.

It's not the $8M that some were saying last week, but $6M is still a lot of money for a guy who is a fringe second pairing guy, probably more a third pairing guy.
 
Gotta love the Sens... Melnyk shits on the Leafs' D then they hire their D coach as head coach, trade for Zaitsev and sign Hainsey.

McKenzie also says that he checked out a rumour yesterday that the Habs and Hurricanes were talking trade for Aho (around the threat of an offer sheet) and there was NO TRUTH to it.

So let me get this straight - Canes will match any offer sheet, but are open to trade discussions for Aho?
