Bernier to Ducks

Really? Awesome. I wonder if the Leafs had to eat any salary for Bernier. Worst case scenario, we've cleared about $2M in cap space. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Ducks took his whole cap hit. They're a budget team, not a cap team, and the Leafs already paid half of Bernier's actual salary in the form of a signing bonus on July 1st.

What veteran goalies are left out there on the UFA market? I can't see them going into the season with Sparks, Bibeau or Kaskisuo as the backup.

A shame that he couldn't have had a better team around him. Still think he has the potential to be a quality goalie and he gave us a really excellent first season in Toronto. Good low-risk move for Anaheim too.

I would sign Enroth. Bernier had a 2M bonus pay out on 1st so Ducks on hook for only 2.1 million of actual salary

Enroth isn't actually a bad idea. Big and Scandinavian just like Andersen. Would give the Leafs a fairly young, huge Nordic duo between the pipes.

Enroth is actually 5'10". But I agree he'd be a solid pick-up.

A decent amount of NHL experience, and except for Buffalo's "Tank for McDavid" yeah, at worst he's posted slightly below-average numbers.

I confused Enroth for Buffalo's other Swedish goaltender, Lehner. No thanks on the midgets.
Meh. Ideally, no, but what better options are there out there? No matter who we get, with the expansion draft coming up, we should stick to UFA rather than spending any assets.

Who knows, maybe Hunter & co. have a European free agent in mind.
