thank fuck he's going with something different. His line stubborness is just as bad as babcock's was. I just don't understand why these coaches aren't interested in seeing different looks all season long. especially when they then make sudden line changes in the playoffs that they've never tried before.

Always a struggle when the Leafs and Raps play on the same night. I’d prefer to concentrate on one game.
 
I tried to campaign for signing a good LW before they blew their last bit of cash on Nick FUCKING Ritchie. I tried really hard.

Of course none of this matters if Matthews and Marner play like bitch ass bitches but we know they'll eventually dominate again.

The weird thing about Keefe is he'll Put the lines in a blender for literally one shift and then go straight back. It's like he gets scared or something and chickens out.
 
I never understood caring about LW or RW, tbh.

Marner and Nylander can play just as well on the left. Makes no difference.

The question imo was always whether we were going to get two of the depth wingers to succeed on the top lines.

So far Bunting is looking like he will, like I hoped. My 2nd favorite Kase has been OK, but wedded to Kampf unfortunately. Mikky was my 3rd choice.

Ritchie I never expected to be the best fit up there. But I did like his chance at succeeding on a depth scoring line - and looking at these lines that 4th line should be better offensively than that 3rd line.

A combined $6M to Nick Ritchie and Alex Kerfoot is a good explanation for why our left side sucks balls.

Fucking Dubas.
 
Thing about Ritchie is that as I've said all along, he's basically a wash with Thornton in a bottom line role and arguably a worse fit with the top dogs. He's getting paid 1.8 million than Jumbo got last year. Thornton sees the ice better and is a better playmaker, Ritchie is a better scorer, but at the end of the day their impacts are similar. They will produce at similar rates but they both make the team much slower and easier to play against. I like what Thornton brought for most of last year but at 700k.

TLDR: Ritchie was a tremendously pointless and stupid signing.
