Let's try this again...

The Canes will try to bounce back from yet another brutal 3rd period collapse against the Kings. No word on a morning skate, although I would guess it was optional if they held it at all. That probably means no Lindholm tonight either. Maybe Leighton in goal too.

The Kings are on the outside, looking in to the playoff race. They're 4th in the Wild Card, 1 point behind Winnipeg but with 4 games in hand. They're 5th in the Pacific Division, 3 points behind 3rd place Anaheim. Jeff Carter leads with 11 goals and 21 points, Anze Kopitar has 12 assists. Jonathan Quick was injured in the first game of the season and was expected to miss 3-4 months with a groin injury. Peter Budaj has gotten the bulk of the work in goal, starting 21 of their 25 games. He has a 2.23 GAA and .909 Save %.

Fox Sports Carolinas for TV.

Less scoring ... almost a certainty

Same result ... let's count on it and open the door to being pleasantly surprised. In the morning. No way I'm sitting up late for this mess.

Ryan again short handed with just a beautiful give and go with McGinn. After Ryan's first goal I will rest my case for Ryan over Skinner in the shootouts.

Here we go again...yet another 2 goal lead on the road.

That was a sweet set of passes w/o much space.

Course right now I'd almost put cam ward on the shootout over Skinner :p He just doesn't seem to have any confidence.

Well, had to follow this one from the box score which tells a different story from the scoreboard. Talk about a flip flop from last year; sure wish we could consistently get good help for Cam's stellar goaltending.

Derek Ryan? Who is this strange man? Where did he learn to make moves like this? Why am I asking so many questions?

Surely a sucker for punishment, I stayed up to watch this one as I had paperwork to fill out. A nice game, the Canes looked really tight as an overall forechecking unit the whole game. The Canes were moving their skates all night, very tenacious on L.A. opposition. Derek Ryan, although not imposing physically, again demonstrates he has above avg hockey IQ, not generational or superstar, but he definitely has a good feel for the game along with some pretty creative hands. McGinn and PDG both had a good game along side him as well.

Really nothing negative to say. Cam was solid, like really solid in net.

So anybody up for taking on Jordan Staal while his value is arguably still pretty decent? ;)
And in return get a guy like RNH... I know... stuck on this. But if precedent means anything, one day, sooner or later, RNH will be a Cane.

I think you have to give credit to RF for the depth that has allowed this team to play well while missing 2 of their most experienced forwards in Staal and Lindholm.

Spped watched this morning. Really solid outing, especially following up that shaky finish in Orange County the night before. Ryan's line was efficient and slick ... looked like their AHL performances from last winter. The D was solid and forwards were a LOT more disciplined in their assignments. Just a solid, buttoned down, business-like win.
