You again?

After a much deserved day off on Friday and practice yesterday, the Canes continue the homestand. Reading a Michael Smith’s article yesterday, the boys were appreciative of the complete blackout day. The stretch between February 11 and Thursday’s game was 13 games in 22 days, 1 game every 1.69 days. The schedule lightens up the rest of the month, with just 12 more games and 3 more 2 day breaks. The pace increases in April and a may with 22 games in 40 days, only 1-2 day break and 4 back to backs. But 13 of the 22 are at home, including a season long 8 game homestand in April. From the comments after practice, it sounds like Mrazek is a no for today, they had been pointing to this game for his return. Gardiner will be a game time decision and, based on the pairings in practice, Bean looks to be the odd man out. Reimer should be in goal.

The Panthers beat the Preds yesterday, 6-2, behind Noel Acciari’s hat trick, his first goals of the season. The win moved them back into 2nd, tied with Tampa on points. They had a 2 day break after their game on Monday so Bob started both games against Nashville, also beating them 5-4 on Thursday. We’ll probably see Chris Driedger today.

No morning skate but RBA had a media availability. Teravainen is a game time decision, Gardiner is in, Reimer in goal.

American, Canadian, Icelandic, Lithuanian...no matter what, they’re all pretty awful if the NHL hired them to do that job! Go Canes and let’s hope the game goes so well no one notices who the zebras are today!

Where is everyone?

Canes up 2-1 after 2. Nino converted a sweet pass from Necas to make it 2-0, then Reimer was beaten 5 hole by Weegar off a lost faceoff. Panthers will start the 3rd on the PP.

I figure the first period put everyone to sleep. The second was more watchable but our ice is $#^%
