The only good part of Eugene Melnyk is the liver he got from someone else!

There will be less people at an average Sens game this year than at a "Battlefied Earth" screening

The Sens are so poor....... *HOW POOR ARE THEY?????*

They Have Signed Joe Murphy Out of Retirement for a hot bath and a toothbrush!

The Sens will score less this season than Randy Lee with a teenage boy on a shuttle bus!

Sens looked decent against Chicago. Hoping for a way better effort tonight, can’t take any team lightly. Also hoping Kapanen and Ennis flip spots

No line changes for tonight, according to Masters.

Hey, they played so great, keep 'em all together.

Other than his lines and pairings, the thing that perplexes the most about Babcock's coaching is that he has the forwards play high up on defensive zone breakout plays. WTF? It results in tons of turnovers and icings because the blueliners either make low percentage long bomb passes or fire it up the ice to relieve pressure.

Not only is this a generally a bad way to breakout but it avoids the very strengths of the team. The forwards, with a few exceptions, are all good and very good puck carriers.

Really? What now?

I'm really tiring of this guy quicker than I thought I would this season. Leivo has been good. Brown, on the other hand, has been at best invisible.

I believe he said something along the lines of he played Kadri on the wing for a few shifts in the last game, because Kadri's line is still a work in progress. I can see how that'd be pretty easy to interpret as a shot at Leivo.

Complimented brown in basically the same breath and also said that he doesn't trust that kadri line to play shutdown minutes because the line is a work in progress. Mentioned that kadri will eventually get the toughs again. Not sure that bodes well for Leivo long-term.

Really does seem like leivs is being forced upon Babs and Babs wants nothing to do with him.

Not sure why we need a shutdown line anyway. Just roll the three lines and make other teams deal with us. Kinda dumb to give Kadri all the tough minutes when Matthews and Tavares can handle their share as well.

They keep playing like they did against Montreal and the knives will come out for Babcock. I don't think too many are missing the fact that a bunch of second rate players can breakout with ease, while the Leafs with their oodles of talent can't regularly exit their own zone without trouble.

Babcock went on quite a bit about "reinventing" himself over the summer. If that's reinvention, I'd hate to see what same old looks like. I guess we'd still have Roman and Leo taking quality minutes.

No Tkachuk tonight. Probably a good thing because hes likely going to try and be a meathead and prove him against a provincial rival

Game 1

Kadri 67cf% (+27), 82xgf% (+44)
Leivo 65cf% (+23), 71xgf% (+28)
Brown 56cf% (+13), 59xgf% (+16)

Nice. A lot cleaner then the usual comparison post from last season

it was deciding to smash together the two p60 stats, the two possession stats, and the two relative stats that made it come together.

it's not super scientific, but it's a pretty good snapshot I think.

Mindz' keys to the game:

1) Auston Matthews is a maple leaf
2) Mitch Marner is also a maple leaf
3) Rumour has it that John Tavares is also a maple leaf
4) Score more than Ottawa. To achieve this, see items 1 through 3.
