Met an ex-Hab tonight

My son is playing in a local tournament this weekend and tonight he was playing in Richmond. Lo and behold Turner Stevenson was there as his son was playing in an older age group.

I told him I saw him score in the f
Forum, he laughed and said that was a lonlong time ago.

He is huge.

As an aside my son's team advanced to the Final tomorrow morning.
 
I've met Turner Stevenson hundreds of times.

Grew up in the same town as him. Only seen him once since he was drafted though. Funny story, my brother beat him up once for picking on me. They were the same age, 4-5 years older than me.
 
While I was living in Paris, my friend visited me and went to Versailles while I was working one day. The group tour he went on coincidentally included former Hab grinder Garth Murray; who apparently (jokingly) told my friend to stop hitting on his wife.

How would you even recognize a nobody like Garth Murray in street clothes? I wouldn't recognize him if he were standing in my shoes.

A friend of mine went to high school with Todd Ewen and told me that somehow, without even knowing it, he inadvertantly pissed Ewen off and was threatened with a beat down. I told him he was lucky to still be alive to tell that story.

I wasn't there so don't know, that's what my friend told me. Pretty sure it's not made up, he's not a schemer. It was one of those group tours so I guess they asked the tourists to introduce themselves.

Jim Kyte was in the same junior high school as me, saw him every day.

I ran into Claude Lemieux and Doug Gilmour at the 2011 draft in Minneapolis/St,Paul.

Going to a few development camps, I got to see Bob Gainey, Guy Carbonneau, Trevor Timmins talking with fans before they had the Brassard practice rink built. I never actually bothered them or anything because there were always people talking with them and I didn't really have much to say that they hadn't heard already from two dozen other people. Got to say hi to a few of the prospects as they were headed to the bus after practices. I translated for David Fischer when one of the fans had a question for him but he couldn't understand French.

I also saw Denis Coderre at Joe Beef 2 months ago.

That's about as far as I go with known athletes and/or celebrities.
 
Had dinner with Julien Brisebois and his (then) girlfriend in Vancouver in 2005....smart guy, no wonder everyone talks highly of him.

I also diagnosed Max with a concussion this past week, but we're not allowed to say it's a concussion.....
 
I was at a bar during happy hour yesterday and Bob Gainey was there, my friend asked if he can take his photo with him and he said no
