New Two-Year Deal for Nestrasil

Pretty good bump from his 550K last year, but still budget-friendly for what he could become over the next 2 yrs. Like it.
 
Good size and plays whistle to whistle. He was a good waiver wire pick up and a good addition to the team. Glad to see him get his contract.
 
Fine. Great squad guy even if he doesn't develop any more. And I suspect he's got a lot more to offer when he settles into a roster spot instead of bouncing around all over the place in terms of role and ice time. Decent two-way 3rd liner who could well bloom into something more ... and at a decent rate of pay. That's good business.
 
Good deal all around. He earned the raise and the Canes definitely need him in the forwards group. I like it and he still has upside.

I don't think that's a fair comment at all. By all accounts Detroit was gutted to lose the kid because they shared our front office's confidence that he could grow into a very good player fairly soon.
