OT: Cars

That's a far ass way for me to go for oil changes though.

I was going to mention that too. I was seriously looking at the Jetta TDI and thought...do I really want to drive to Barrie for service? Nope.

I'll keep that in mind man, thanks. That's a far ass way for me to go for oil changes though.

They offer concierge service to their customers. I didn't go near the dealership until my warranty expired. They came and picked up the car and left me another Audi until they returned it. Awesome. Not sure if they'll do that for someone living in Barrie though.

lol...they would have to.

They might do it. When I was shopping, I got Downtown Audi to agree to include this with the purchase, though I didn't end up buying from them. Autohaus in Barrie (I think is the dealer up there) would probably agree to this.

Of course, for things like oil change and service intervals, the warranty is good at any dealership and, in my experience, they like to get that business.

I was down at BMW's launch party for the new M3 and M4 a few weeks ago. While they're both beautiful cars (M4 in particular) they're both out of my budget. I did however stumble upon the M235 and while it's not a true M I was still impressed by it. Been toying with the thought of trading in my 335 for one.

Anyone here that can suggest a good place to get window tinting done in the GTA?

Preferably in Mississauga/Brampton. Not a big deal though.

I know an excellent car tint place (FX Auto) but they're out in Markham ... I've taken my past 5 or 6 cars there and never had any problem. But I'm sure there are similar stores in the west end ... check those car forums

So we traded in our 2022 Bronco Sport and 2013 Honda CRV and bought a 2025 Equinox EV and leasing a 2024 Blazer EV.

Absolutely loving both of them. Especially the Blazer which is pretty damn loaded.

I can't believe how fun they are to drive. It's only been a week, but I don't imagine I'd ever go back to combustion.

My old hybrid did well in the summers but did not hold up in the Berta winters. The battery would consistently show full charge in colder temps and would consistently switch back from gas to electric

Maybe it was a poor design (Chrysler) and other manufactures have it figured out

Solid state batteries are going to make charging more or less moot in the next ~5 yrs imo. The industry will either go towards smaller, lighter batteries with similar ranges, that charge in half the time. Or towards 1200-1500km ranges with similar sized battery packs that most people charge once a week.

Elon getting squeezed by byd on the battery side and autonomous taxi by Waymo (aka as Google)

Needs to pull a rabbit out of his arse. Or steal the US government…

Yeah, I lose about 100km in range in the winter with my Prius. Still a good car though.

Sounds like they've made great strides and will obviously continue to. The 2 we got have heat pumps which helps a lot in extreme temps.
