Need an assist here from anyone who might be proficient with Word and the track changes feature.
I just got a new computer and the latest version of Word. Previously, I was stuck like glue to the 2008 version and was really comfortable with the track changes settings. Now, the new version is killing me. Here's the issue.
When the other side sends me a revised document in redline, I don't trust their changes. I run my own redline/comparison to reveal all of the changes since my last draft (almost always the same, but sometimes not and reveals a few differences someone accidentally or intentionally left out). When I did that on the previous program, it would show the changes in bubbles in the margins, but it wouldn't attach my name to the changes. Now it does, it literally says that I made the deletion, when really I'm just running the comparison to see what the other guy changed. So it creates a false record that I don't want out there.
Long story short, does anyone know how to make it so that when you run the compare feature and it shows the new changes, that the deletions in the bubbles within the margins don't have a name attached to them?
By the way, I want the comments in the margins to continue to show who commented, but the deletions in the margins shouldn't show any name.
