OT: American Politics

Uh huh. They’ve all entered legally.

Let’s get something straight too, this is a directive from the WH, not Congress. Keep conflating issues though.

Who said all of them? Not that it makes a difference. Imagine they took your kids from you when you tried to enter.

Two different issues. Washington kicked the can for decades and ended up with the whole Dreamers mess. Taking kids away from parents has nothing to do with the past decades of an illegal immigration problem. Its a completely new, abhorrent policy that only the evil that created can be fairly blamed for.

You don’t think a proper law could have prevented this? A court ruling said kids cannot be subject to confinement like adults. Now you have this.

Not once did I say I agree with Trump’s tactic. I find it beyond abhorrent. My attitude is they must now sleep in the bed they’ve made or change beds.

This can be fixed in a week. Something tells me they won’t do it though, you know because each side will try and throw other shit into any bill.

Welcome to America. Parents to the right, kids to the left.

Btw, this is the issue with executive orders.

Washington has to stop ****ing around and start legislating again.

The bed may not have been made but Trump came in and threw all the sheets on the floor and we shouldn't have to pretend like he didn't.

Yes, there has been an illegal immigration problem that hasn't properly been dealt with.

But this isn't that problem. That problem was going along just fine without abducting children. This is a new, intentional policy by a very specific group of people and they shouldn't get let off the hook for it by any reasonable person.

You guys don’t get it. I’m thoroughly calloused on this issue because it’s been kicked down the road for decades. Now, because Trump implements a zero tolerance policy, it’s a catastrophe.

Sorry, Washington did this. Washington can also fix this in less than a week. If they really want to. What I think is that they don’t want to fix anything, the Democrats want this as an election issue as usual and the GOP can’t agree on the color of the sky.

I'm not sure why it matters why America is acting in a evil manner, does it?

But this is happening to families who entered legally. Imagine you presented yourself at customs when you first came and they took your kids away.

I came across the northern border, I’m white and speak English... I’d get escorted to my hotel and have mints on my pillow.

He’s doing this so congress acts. He’s said so basically. It’s too extreme for my taste but I wait to see what congress does. He wants his ****ing wall and will apparently stop at nothing to get it.

He’s still not “getting away with” anything.

He absolutely is. He's not being held accountable by the legislative branch in the least.

BTW, some of your post is laughable.

You're a really bad judge of what is laughable if you consider any of that laughable. Everything there is either a blatant ethical, or legal violation.

I’m sure he’ll be convicted any day now.

How does that change the legality of it?

Please explain to me how this isn't an emoluments violation:

A sitting President refused to divest from his company. That company then invested in a development that is part of a broader Chinese government economic development project. Through this, the President's company has received a 500 million dollar loan from a corporation directly owned by the Chinese government. The President's company is set to complete construction on condo's, etc from which they will sell/manage and make profit. This is same company that 24 months ago couldn't have gotten financing from a US bank buy a pack of gum. But now has foreign entities throwing 100's of millions of dollars in loans at it.

That is a textbook emoluments clause violation. That Republican congress is terrified of crossing the President doesn't negate the illegality here. This is exactly what the framers had in mind when they wrote this clause.

You like to hide behind the (perceived) legal powers of the president in your arguments a lot. Well here is a blatant example of the President going beyond his constitutional powers and all you've got is shitty sarcasm.

When are you going to come out and admit that your belief system is no deeper than "lol, librul tears" these days?

Let me boil this down to a simple question.

Do you believe that the president has violated the emoluments clause with this or any of his other business actions since entering the white house?

To answer your question, no I don’t believe it’s a breach of the emoluments clause and won’t until a court of competent jurisdiction says it is.

I believe Trump ran this by the WH legal counsel and got clearance. Now I’m not a lawyer so I’ll let those more educated in the matter decide.

When are you going to come out and admit your bias has overtaken any semblance of belief in due process? You’ve been judge, jury and executioner for quite sometime now.

They did act. They passed a budget that did not appropriate money for his wall. That was the decision. He signed it into law.

This whole issue of separating kids from their parents cannot be playing well in the burbs, especially with women.
