It has nothing to do with money
They've been making progress, there's a few very expensive and still a bit experimental treatments being developed in Seattle that are showing decent results.
It actually has to do, i also talked with few researchers friends which their career is focused on this matter, the willing and the hunger is not there like the way it supposed to be, they are making some progress but there are tons of items which stop them to do more. It is very complicated issue. Obviously no one can come and say it publicly.
You bring up some fine points . Many years ago my uncle was diagnosed with stage 4 advanced colon cancer and oncologists gave him 6 months .
With the recommendation of a friend he went to South America at an alternative cancer treatment center for 6 weeks to pump his body with vitamins and antioxidants to help his own immune fight internal
diseases .
I pick him up at the airport around Christmas and my jaw dropped as he put on about 20 pounds and looked healed and not cancer stricken .
He was on an intense organic food and vitamin program that required countless hours per week for preparation and timing was important .
We were blessed to have him for 8 more years and for the most part in decent health til he eventually passed .
A good friend of mine`s son is a cancer researcher and immune gene specialist in France and mentioned many times that whatever advances and or successes they may have are clearly dictated
by the cost of research dollars , government and big pharma`s so called politics, and how are the insurers and general public going to pay and or profit from this .
As much as cancer is created by your own body and not virus based , he is confident that modern medicine will be able to create your own internal targeted structure to fight diseases .
However as he says if we give you drug X that cures your ills what is it worth to you , how is your government / employer plan going to pay for this .
The other main concern is if we make huge progress and there are countless fewer surgeries or specialists required etc.... are we prepared to close treatment centers and
eliminate countless jobs if services are no longer required if a pill a day is all I need .
All kind of processed foods, and amount of hormones in meats, etc are killing us man, i have seen numerous of people like the way you described the story of your late uncle, they became vegetarians and keep eating organic stuffs and they looked fresh and healthy and totally fine. People think by only avoiding junk foods they can save their life, sure it helps, but other stuffs that we eat is also full of shits, hormones, sadly for me coming from middle east i can't stop eating two things: 1) Meat 2) Rice. Even though i eat brown rice and try to minimize the red meat but still i don't think it is enough!
