The Heritage logo they've designed trumps both of the NHL jerseys.. any chance they'll make a jersey out of it, maybe black with red/white striping?

It's a one year deal, he'll be traded at the deadline to a Washington or Pittsburgh. You really only need a "Madden" for the playoffs anyway.

TheHockeyNews EDM just signed Martin Gerber. And a gaggle of agents representing the remaining UFA goalies got fired milliseconds later.

I dunno about that, BG. It looks to me like they just recycled Canada's 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics logo and tweaked it with a few minor variations.

Gerber signed a 2-way contract, so it's not necessarily a bad signing. Gerber actually played pretty well for the brief period he was a Leaf (and probably cost us a few spots in the draft)

I like the Madden signing. TSN reported it to be $1M, not 1.25, but in any case if you don't mind his age, that's a good price for a veteran who can still play D, and bring lots of veteran savvy and playoff experience to teh table.

Madden for 1M wouldve made miles more sense then paying John Mitchell whatever it is he makes for whatever it is he does.

RussoTrib John Madden's contract w #mnwild is 1-year, #1 million. Can make up to 250K in games played and playoff bonuses. 1.25 cap hit, says source

This is Russo from the Minnesota Star Tribune.
TSN says the Minnesota Star Tribune is saying 1 million but they're likely ignoring bonuses.

Alright, not really league news they're doing Hockey Canada's WJC camp right now and Brad Ross has been having some injury trouble. Looks like he's got a pulled groin and hasn't been able to participate. I think he probably has a good chance to make it this year so that's too bad.

If Ross makes the squad he will be the Tootoo/Downie for this year's squad without a doubt.
