OT: Movies/TV Shows

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

Who wouldn't sell-out for 4.5 Billion?

I'd like to say Disney planning these films is a bad idea. But what legacy could they hurt? The last 3 were so bad I think they can do much better.

And they have to get that money back they gave Lucas.

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

Sons tonight.

Sons of Anarchy is garbage.....sadly i keep watching cos I've invested too much time in it....

The gun fights they have are ridiculous....like 30 guys in a line shooting at each other with automatic weapons and nobody gets hit, i even think last year someone broke out an RPG and fired it at someone that was like 15 feet away, giant explosion and nobody died or was injured......the writing on the show is complete shit, it seems like they have totally written themselves into a corner and have to have this elaborate story line to get out of it......the first two seasons were alright....

Charlie Hunnan was a terrible choice to play Jax Teller, his ridiculous strut/swagger he does and his ridiculous accent are sooo cheesy.

If I hear Jax say " Man, I got make peace with the 9'ers/insert any gang name man" one more time im going to stop watching. Every episode their making peace with so and so gang and then war breaks out for an episode then they make peace and it continues on and on. The Gemma/Tara story line that has been happening for the past 5 season is ****ing awful, fight, make up, fight, make up again....another fight....another make up....

And Jimmy Smits has to be the worst guy to portray a Latino gang member....he was ****ing awful in Dexter when he played that latino DA. He's awful in everything actually.

And finally.....Spoilers

One of the members is forced to watch his daughter be soaked in gasoline, lit on fire and be burned to death and two episodes later he makes peace with the guys that did it and he's all happy/cheery again......cmon, it's terrible written

The only good part about the show is Ron Pearlman....that's it.

Lot of hate.

But Gemma gets raped...nothing happens.... Jax dad is mudered by clay nothing happens.... Opies dad tried to kill clay...nothing happens....Clay kills Opies wife....nothing happens....Opie tries to kill Clay.... the gasoline thing is just par for the course.

Like I said...first two seasons were good....and I thought it might go somewhere with Clay getting shot...but as per normal nothing happens.

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

"In 2015, we’re planning to release Star Wars Episode 7 – the first feature film under the “Disney-Lucasfilm” brand. That will be followed by Episodes 8 and 9 – and our long term plan is to release a new Star Wars feature film every two to three years"

starring justin bieber and the jonas brothers.

Mickey mouse gonna forcechoke some bitches.

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

So...one movie company that I never watch bought another movie company that I never watch.

I feel ok with this.

I agree... there's nothing to ruin at this point. I'll at least give episode 7 a chance... and go from there.

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

Regarding Star Wars:

Episode 1 was ok.
Episode 2 was utter trash.
Epsisode 3 was ok.

I didn't hate on them as much as some others did. The originals were just so good and ground breaking, they new ones even with the amazing special effects, couldn't measure up.

I'll give the new trilogy a chance.

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

Hell, Lucas has been trying to ruin the original 3 as best he can by messing with them for each new DVD/Blu-Ray release. I'm no Star Wars nerd, but putting that stiff Hayden Christensen in Return of the Jedi? Really?

Disney will probably exploit the cartoon side of the franchise first before they spring for another live action feature.

I'd argue the effects are much better in the originals. Lucas went too far with the effects in the new ones. Everything was fake and looked like a video game.

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

the originals looked much more real than the computer animated crap.

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

Some of the action scenes in Attack of the Clones is embarrassing. There was a scene in that movie where everything is fake-including the floor and furniture. Why?

The best effects compliment a scene and don't distract from it.

Tom Cruise climbing that building in Dubai in MI4 beats any fake action scene.

You've watched a boatload of "Disney" movies, you likely just didn't realize it, as it was under the 'Touchstone' moniker.

The major issue with the original...is that the fight scene choreography was ****ing laughable. Luke was very unbelieveable as a highly skilled fighting machine capable of fighting one of the greatest force users in history.

Re: OT: Recent Movies You've Seen

Prediction for Episode 7: it will involve the introduction of Grand Admiral Thrawn...
