Updates and Rumours from around the League

With how everyone praises Price and shits on Fleury, I expected it to be a much bigger difference.

theyr'e very similar

similar inconsistencies. similar ceiling. similar basement. both have two elite-ish seasons. price has had two subpar seasons to fleury's one. this year was the first year where they weren't within 7 sv% points of each other.

and of course they have pretty similar deficiencies, and similar playoff struggles.

factor in fleury being a frenchie, price's statements, fleury's benching and the fact that bergevin and mario are besties.... wouldn't surprise me at all to see those guys swapped.

Never happen. They can keep Fleury. Price would have a better playoff record too playing behind Crosby and Malkin.

Adrian Dater of the Denver Post reports that new Colorado Avalanche hockey ops chief Joe Sakic may have had a change of heart about hiring a coach without NHL experience.

That would seem to put former Avs legend and current Quebec junior league bench boss Patrick Roy firmly back in contention for Joe Sacco's old job. From Dater:

Indications from the Avs now are that a junior coach IS possible. I would still say Sakic would prefer an experienced guy, one who already has had an NHL head coaching job. But it's now possible that it could indeed be someone from junior, say a Patrick Roy or maybe even an AHL guy like Dallas Eakins or someone else.
Nothing is imminent, however. The team will do its "due diligence" finding the right guy

.

I don't see how eakins gets the credit for kadri, frattin, gardiner, reimer being good players.

if anything, frattin and kadri took too long to become good players, while guys like holzer, blacker, ashton, colborne, d'amigo, etc. etc. don't seem to be making any progress whatsoever.

They just aren't a good team. They have a handful of good players, but that is about it.

I mean John Mitchell was one of their best players.
