Round 2: Habs-Lightning General Discussion Thread

Yet your own post explains why we we're not scoring goals in the playoffs - too many perimeter players. And you won't win a Cup with 51 and 14 as your top line centers. It's impossible. The Last team that won a Cup with a 50 pt. first line center was the 2003 Devils with Gomez and they still averaged 2.5 goals/game in the playoffs. We're under 2 right now.

Exactly....too many perimeter plays....stop making perimeter pussy plays..no excuse when we have 20-30 goal scorers

Lines at practice:

Pacioretty - Plekanec - Gallagher
Galchenyuk - Eller - Weise
Prust - Flynn - Parenteau
de la Rose - Mitchell - Smith-Pelly

Uglyyy.

We need speed and skill...

Andrighetto would help....Thomas maybe.....

But Therrien is not benching his vets for AHLers

Why wouldn't we at least give the EGG line a shot? It has been a line that has shown the ability to produce at one time at least.

Calm down. The Rangers were, and still are, a better, more talented, and deeper team.

We were able to beat them during regular season...no reason we couldn't handle them in playoffs...even without Price. Nash was not that great in playoffs, neither was St-Louis

holy contradictions, you wrote in the same thread regular season is meaningless

they cant score either

Rolex is just suppressing his own guilt for leaving game 1 and selling for game 2. He knows he gave up as he is mentally weak so he is lashing out.

Best decision i've made in past few weeks....should've sold Game 1 also....hesitated, but still went...

Waiting to see if I need to sell Game 5....or game 7 :eek6:

Stop spinning things your way...it's clear to understand:

Playing perimeter hockey and winning in regular season doesn't translate well into playoffs. We best them in regular season playing perimeter hockey....I expected us to beat them in playoffs by stepping it up a bit and playing more aggressive hockey, but we stopped trying....

Do you understand now

Except that wasn't what you wrote when you claimed we were mentally weak and I stated no mentally weak team earns 110 points. You frothed at the mouth and screamed that the playoffs are different.

Face it, it is your own Christian self-flaggelation that is making you froth at the mouth. Deep down you feel very guilty for leaving after two periods and abandoning the team by selling game 2 tickets. Due to your guilt, you are lashing out. It is like the adulterer accusing his/her spouse of adultery.

Btw, Beaulieu is wearing a tinted visor at practice. #concussion

except we are constantly told it is isn't one

It isn't you but what is the new fascination with concussions. It seems that they are all the rage. Wilde goes on twitter demanding teams say something is a concussion, ripped Chelsea for letting Oscar back in the game etc.

If the athlete wants to play with a concussion, who am I to stop him? Make him sign a waiver.

I don't think anyone who shells out the kind of money the Habs charge for playoff tickets needs to feel guilty, unless he's feeling guilty about spending the money on something trivial like a sporting event instead of something more useful. You could probably feed a homeless person for a month for what it costs to buy a playoff ticket.

I think the real emotion behind Rolex leaving early and selling off his tickets is less about guilt and more about embarrassment. He feels like a fool for believing in this team enough to spend the money. At some point during Game 1 it occurred to him that this team is a fraud. He's just cutting his losses.

The Habs are the ones who should feel guilty, not the fans.

Could be the answer

Markov getting his wrist or forearm heavily taped at the bench before practice.

I keep hearing people repeating that we're playing perimeter hockey but I just don't see it this time around. We've crashing the net a lot, have people up for screens and rebounds and we're generating a lot of chances, it's the talent that is sorely lacking.

Sure, some people are playing perimeter hockey, Plekanec and Galchenyuk comes to mind, but those are the exception and not the norm.

Good job Wilde, tell the entire world it's his wrist. Of course, no one on the Lightning would think for a second about hitting that wrist.
