Possibly but . . . I think he's vulnerable due to poor special teams play. MB said after the Ottawa series that he expected the team to be much better on the PP in the second round . . . and they obviously were not. Is that on the players or MT? We probably beat Tampa if the PP scores 2 or 3 more goals.

A PP can be fixed without changing the head coach, especially given that special team units are generally the responsibility of the assistants. That's like changing cars because you don't like the radio.

But something, anything, has to be done to fix this atrocious PP.

I just don't understand how a team with PK and Markov, arguably 2 of the best PP defensemen in the league, can be so pathetic out there most times out. Especially when it was what like 2 years ago that we had far and away the best PP in the league. What changed?

Still, you would think that these guys are pros....it's not the first PP with Subban-Markov-Max-Pleks-Chuckie-Gally-DD...the guys just weren't creative enough.

That's definitely part of it, even though the PP wasn't all that great last year, it was still miles ahead of this year.

The problem is that we became a one-trick pony this year, the only thing we would try to do is setup PK for the one timer. Pretty easy to defend against.

The PP sucked under him as well, it's sucked for over 1.5-yrs now...

We are very easily knocked off the puck on the PP. We have a horrible time gaining the blueline. Then we get our one chance from the blueline and miss the net by a mile and out it comes.

Talent talent talent. Anyone watch the Wings, behind the back/no look passes, constant cycling of the puck, and tremendous puck anticipation - but u need need talent to do that!

Subban can, Galchenyuk can, but that's it - Markov used to be able to when he possessed lateral movement. MaxPac is a terrible passer, Plekanec's every move is as predictable as a robot, Gallagher has no hands.

I don't know that I agree that we took a step back.

We earned ten more points and won the division instead of finishing third like last year.

We did play one less series in the post season so in that context yes, but overall, it was as good a season as last.

The NHL is about the playoffs. In that sense, they obviously took a step back.
