OT: WWE/MMA/Boxing Thread

Ward/Kovalev is what Mayweather-Pac should have been. 2 of the best boxers of their era meeting in their primes. Puncher vs boxer/tactician.

Gotta be honest, I'm at least at half mast about this fight and it's not until November. Now if Canelo would stop being a bitch and fight GGG, that would be great.

GSP should stay retired, but I don't blame him for coming back. He'll get another $10M payday.

But GSP hit more in his last three fights against Condit, Diaz & Hendricks than he did in his previous 10 fights combined. He had slowed down considerably already.

I think Bisping would finish him.

The last thing I want is for GSP to come back and look like Fedor did against Fabio Maldenaldo... Christ that was hard to watch.

Canelo "Pollito" Alvarez

De La Hoya is trying to wait out GGG's late prime, so an in prime Canelo can fight an aged GGG. It's not fooling anyone, and even Canelo's Mexican fans are pissed off.

It's shit like this why boxing has kept on slipping while the UFC has kept rising. UFC continually has the best fight the best while in boxing, they twiddle their thumbs and maybe eventually get to it.

Adonis Stevenson is going to have his seventh (I think) defense and he's been talking about fighting Kovalev for two ****ing years now. I mean, come on. If you don't want to fight Kovalev, just come out and say it. Enough with this charade.

Yeah, the system of competing promoters is pretty clearly deficient in a lot of ways. Promoters have too much invested in getting maximum return from each fighter, so when you have a Canelo in your stable who is a huge draw, giving him a risky fight against a guy who could potentially dominate him, can cost you millions and ****ing millions of career purse.

It sucks for the fans though, and yeah, is a major reason why UFC has gained the ground it has as quickly as it has.

Carlos Condit is matched up to Damian Maia for UFC 202.

Condit might be one of my favorite fighters, and imo he should be the WW champ, (but alas he was robbed) however this fight doesn't interest me in the least.

Condit's weakness has always been his takedown defense. Maia will take Condit to the ground with relative ease and while Condit is good off of his back, Maia might be the best grappler in MMA. He'll work until he gets the submission.

Since Condit has already said he's not too far off from retirement, I'd want to see him against Nick Diaz, Robbie Lawler or Stephen Thompson. No other fight interests me.

Still a pretty stacked card even without the Jones/DC fight

Watched the presser and we should know tonight what he tested positive for from his second sample. They wont specify at the moment but revealed it was a metabolite

DC may still get an opponent as well. Said he is willing to go as high as 220 for a fight
