You realize, Pleks had no formal say in the trade.... Bergevin could have told him he was going to Winnipeg 5 mins before he made it public. Maybe Bergevin was nice for a self serving reason, maybe not.

ya i am guessing that at worst MB saw the jets deal as similar...but most likely it was BS that will be cited here as gospel for years to come

the one thing (only?) MB has been good at is finding players that are not used well on other teams and making them contribute (Weiss was a 4th liner, Byron was waivers, Dano was junk)

Plekanec, like all Habs who get traded, is dead to me once they are traded. In Plekanec's case, he was dead to me two years ago so I couldn't care less about how happy he is to be a Leaf for 20 games.

I have to admit, I do have some measure of respect for a player who's still enough of a fan, or appreciative of the history between the two teams & fanbases that they would take the kind of stand Gorges did. I'm still grateful to Sundin that he did the same thing when Fletcher tried to trade him to the Habs for Grabovski & Higgins.

I have to admit, I do have some measure of respect for a player who's still enough of a fan, or appreciative of the history between the two teams & fanbases that they would take the kind of stand Gorges did. I'm still grateful to Sundin that he did the same thing when Fletcher tried to trade him to the Habs for Grabovski & Higgins.

I'm happy that it ended up being Canucks fans who got suckered into buying $300 Sundin jerseys to commemorate the 20 games he played for them instead of us.

The Leafs are always the greater evil. I might hate the Bruins but I have a grudging respect for them. I never had any respect for the Leafs (or the Nordiques, for that matter)
