Am I the only one who thinks these interviews were nothing but unnecessary sensationalism. I guess they helped push the CNN ratings but other than that, what was the news value? From what I have heard and read there was nothing new revealed.

tbh, it's pretty hard to "sensationalize" the potus paying $130k in hush money a week before the election and threatening the child of a porn star to cover up an affair on his pregnant wife with a porn star and then deny it when it becomes public and trash her using the office of the potus.

you just told the story in one long sentence. nothing more than a personal sidebar affecting at most a dozen people. unlike most of Trump madness which could affect hundreds of millions.

In a normal scenario, Stormy is huge news. In the Trump timeline though, yeah, she's a distraction from truly troubling shit.
Trump paid off a porn star for her silence (regarding an affair he had with said porn star that started shortly after his youngest child was born) using campaign funds
Remove Trump's name and slot in Obama's and imagine the earth shattering screaming there would have been.
The bow was actually called "treasonous" by a lot of the same people who defend Trump today. Imagine he had been banging a porn star and paid her for her silence? There would have been a dozen benghazi investigations into it.
