It was odd hearing Kypreos spin some insider info when everyone knew it would be Dubas.
I hope one of the first things dubas does is to tell shanahan to tell HNIC to get the 2 idiots (simpson and his buthole hughson) off the toronto airwaves.
And I hope (sorry MZ and zeke) that he steers away from a Carlson signing
I suspect that we can expect that Dubas won't be signing Roman Polak & Leo Komarov to contract extensions.
Assuming Dubas is looking for help on RD who can play on top 4, I can't see Polak coming back, or us signing anyone like Polak.I could see Polak or some iteration of him coming back. A big, mean, physical bottom pairing D-man who is tough to play against and can PK.
I mean, I'd be surprised if Polak specifically was back, but not if Babs is granted some sort of toy of his ilk.

these media folks are something else....grasping at conspiracy and disaster straws.
Can Dubas work with Babcock?
Is Shanahan taking the lead on everything?
Jesus.
Shanny is clearly the lead on everything. The GM position has become an assistant job in many cases.

It operates just like any other company. The president and board have veto power on major changes
Not sure why anyone would think sports management would be run any different

Babcock wanted Hunter.
Matthews wanted Dubas.
Actually, the only way i sign carlson is if gardiner is gone.
Radko Gudas...
Philly wants to clear space (for a run at Tavares ironically enough) and has incoming kids (Sanheim and Morin) to fill the spots in the bottom half of their blueline.
Not a stud, not the answer on the right side but can make a competent break out pass and legitimately has minimal regard for human life, a trait we lack.
I dont think Matthews gives a good god damn who the GM is.
