So Who’s the New Captain?

Mmm, not so sure now that I am thinking about it. They're still trying to justify the Subban trade and making Weber captain is another way to do that. If they start the season without a captain they'll likely wait for Weber to return from injury.
 
The only reason not to give it to Weber is if they feel they might flip him in the near future.

Price would be another option as the official captain, although G as captain is always weird.

I think it will be Weber. Besides, with our recent history (besides Koivu) this means he will be traded within a couple of years.
 
Don't think there will be a captain this year No need to rush this and it remove the focus on said player. My personal choice is Gallagher mostly because Weber is older and might get traded.
 
Shea Weber as captain on that last place team would be dreadful.
Watching him answer to the media after every loss would be painful.
Since the guy got here everything went downhill real fast, and being the poster boy for this disgrace of a team would be really shitty.

Regardless, he does not deserve it more than Brendan Gallagher.
Nobody on this roster deserves more to be the captain of the Montreal Canadiens than Brendan Gallagher.
