He's basically the second coming of Rickard Wallin.
An older player who eventually developed into a scorer over in Europe, but against NHLers, there's exactly nothing about his game or skill-set that's remarkable or above-average. And if he's playing on the wing full-time, and isn't even capable of filling our #4C role, I really fail to see what the point is of keeping him in the lineup.
Ennis should be playing ahead of him once he's healthy, and right now I think there's little doubt that Trevor Moore deserves to play ahead of him.
It’s just so funny how differently I feel about the broadcasts. While the TB guys are better than most, they’re still super annoying to listen to and full on cheerlead for TB. The way he squeals “he scaoaoaores!!” when they put one in, and “he scores” when we do, is obnoxious. And then the quality of the video - grainy, miniature, dark. Just complete shit. It makes the game 50% less enjoyable. You guys are on drugs if you think SN and TSN aren’t infinitely better. Let’s not even talk about the intermission segments. Consider yourself spoiled to get to watch the local guys.
As for the game, I felt the teams were more or less equal, but Andersen was awesome. Super solid and just unbeatable in the last ten minutes. Surprised he’s not getting more praise.
I thought Willy had much more jump with Matthews, but Willy still just has zero touch, zero. And Matty looks really bad too. I don’t know what’s wrong with these guys.
I'm not sure I understand your issues here.
You're upset that the American home broadcasts favour the home teams? But you support the home broadcasts (SN/TSN) that basically do everything they can to minimize the achievements of the home team?
For clarity, there is no Leaf 'homer' broadcast as far as I'm concerned. SN actively throws the Leafs under the bus and creates drama every opportunity they get, and TSN, well a little more balanced with better analysts, isn't far behind. And despite the TB guys cheering for the Lightning, I still maintain that their assessment and commentary respecting the Leafs was a million times better, more balanced, and more rooted in objectivity than any of the drivel you'll see on SN (and to a lesser extent TSN - I enjoy the TSN broadcasts generally). Also, why would you ever watch the intermission segments? I find watching these either makes me dumber, makes me yell at the TV, or makes me drink. Don't you normally PVR games too?
And your eye test assessment of the game simply does not line up with what transpired on the ice. Andy made a bunch of good saves, but so did Vas. I agree with you on Willy, thought he really competed. But we basically contained and controlled the league's best offence at 5 on 5 all night - and the metrics strongly support this.

I'm saying I hate the US broadcasts, and they suck in literally every aspect relative to the Canadian broadcasts. Unfortunately, we often don't get a choice over here, like last night, when only the US broadcast is available to watch. And again, while the TB guys are better than the Buffalo guys, for instance, they still stink.
Vas was good, Andy was better. I mean, they had almost 40 shots, and there were a lot of good stops he had to make. I thought he made it look easy because his positioning was absolutely top notch last night, but there were a lot of tough saves there.
Greg Millen in particular was awful last night, even by his usually low standards.Your bias for all things Canadian hockey is showing on this one. Our broadcasts are junk.
The problem with Canadian regional is the color commentators suck.
all he talks about are the goalies.
how they have no chance on any goal, and are unbelievable on every save.
we're almost there.
Miller and the new guy are pretty good play by play guys.
Ferraro is a legit color man.
even the HNIC clowns are more annoying than awful.
it's just millen left now as the problem. he's gotta go.
