I feel the same way. Traditionally I hate the bruins more. Given the number of leaf fans around me I find myself preferring a Bruins victory.

My rule of thumb is the more fans you know from the other side, the more you will hate that team. It’s the reason Count hates the Canucks (even against Boston) and why Mindz is happy the Flames just got eliminated. Hell is another team’s fan base.

For sure. The Bruins are about the only exception though. They are so hate-able that you don't need to know a single fan to despise them.

Agreed. But their goon like tactics are steadily being purged from their overall brand. The game has changed so much.

And there’s always exceptions. I know several Brown fans but because they have suffered so much, I don’t automatically root against them.

They still have Marchand... and they have a fairly recent Cup. **** them.

I only know one Leaf fan and he's ok. I don't know any Bruins fans thank God but the historical rivalry generated some intense hatred for that team so it's not even close.

Thing is, I don't hate the Leafs, there is little history there for me. Plus I'm completely over the Canadian drought so I'll cheer for any Canadian team without remorse. I'd be happy for the Leafs to win the Cup this year. The Flames were my first choice but it's over for them. Go Leafs!

If I had to choose one team to win, I'd love San Jose to win. Just so a lot of those players can have a Cup to their name before they retire. I think it's Thornton's last real shot.

As long as Bawstun loses, I don't overly care who wins.

Leaf fans are no more annoying than some of our fellow Habs fans. Bruins fans are on an island to themselves. So punchable.

The great thing about Bruins' fans is that it's reciprocal, they absolutely loathe the Habs.

My dislike for the Leafs definitely stems from their fans.

The team itself is really not that annoying as none of their players really get under my skin like back in the day when they had the likes of Darcy Tucker, Tie Domi, Gary Roberts, Mats Sundin etc....
