Around the League 2019-2026 Edition

This whole postseason is a sham with Matthews, Crosby, and McDavid not even "making the playoffs".

The NHL really has to rethink whether it wants to shine a bright light on its best players or not.

Is making calls really "Deciding games"? I hate that narrative. By not making calls you ARE deciding games.
Yes, NBA is a joke, But NHL just decides to stop making calls because it's the playoffs. It's odd.

no the NBA doesn't just make calls , it makes calls to determine the outcome of the game

i also doubt any Leaf fans were complaining when we slugged our way past a much more talented team in the Sens in a few playoffs but now that Dubas has decided to try to win by building the biggest pussy team in the league it's a problem when other teams bully there way past us , curious

Leafs were a talented team certainly not playing a type system.

Anyways, refs not calling penalties in the playoffs is stupid.
 
Yeah, those guys Atkinson and Bjorkstrand are real bullies. Nyquist, a brute, I tell ya!

The difference in the series, like the Sens ones, was goaltending.
 
We’re a team that is built to win by scoring bunches, not by stellar D or unbeatable goaltending. We can’t have the offense dry up or become super inconsistent every year.

What's right about it?

This happens every single fucking year in the playoffs. A meh team or two makes a deep run and gets blown for being a success story because they got hot at the right time.

They have:

- Anders Lee signed for 7 million until he's 36
- Brock Nelson signed for 6 million until he's 33
- Eberle signed at 5.5 until he's 34
- Bailey 5 until he's 34
- Pageau 5 until he's 33

Those are all bad contracts to guys who are near, at, or over 30.
 
still, the isles are a tough team to play against, top to bottom.

too often the leafs - despite their talent - just aren't.
 
They are until they're not - like when the canes swept them last year. Our pansy leafs have never been close to swept.
 
yeah i mean i guess the leafs shoudln't be embarrassed for getting knocked out by the team that swept tampa last year.
