Hey Nerds: Blockchain

best case scenario for me: run, run, run till earnings....sell the earnings bump....buy the consolidation

**** all this nonsense. I salvaged my client billing program (THANK YOU BEST BUY GEEK SQUAD!) and have had it reinstalled on the new computer, with all my February billings intact. Fucking phew.

By "I", I hope you mean one of your many interns

I hope everyone is enjoying this current market, because this type of ride happens only once every 2 decades.

Stay humble or the market will humble you bla bla bla

I'm now only 2% from ATH despite most cannabis names off their ATH by a lot more than that. I like when I outperform the weed market. And in my US account I'm at ATH thanks to this Jay Z move though I'm so fucking heavy on them that can change in a fucking hurry.

humility is a must, for sure...but I was mostly referring to the opportunities we're seeing now.

cannabis, spacs, electric vehicles, crypto, etc

big moves, lots of buzz and new money coming in (thanks JPOW for keeping rates at zero)

at some point, the market will be a bothersome grind (again)

I don't know if I'm enjoying it enough. I don't do any short term trading, and my long term stuff I've only added the pot stuff and nothing more.

I do wonder if I need to be doing more.

What are the opportunities now though?

I'm not sure what presents a good deal to dive into at the moment. Though I have been completely preoccupied...

And no, I'm handling all this computer and backup shit myself. I wouldn't trust anyone with it. 10 years of client billing records, including February entries which weren't billed yet. Mamamia, as if my other stress wasn't enough.

you're doing fine...you're folio is near ATH.

you're in the game, and that's 90% of it

Yeah, but at the same time, the real rockets I've missed out on. I feel like coming out of this without a Tesla or a Shop moonshot of at least 10x on a semi-sizable investment is a bit of a lost opportunity. I'm up lifetime (going back only four years, and investing over time, not all just four years ago) maybe 120% or so. With all the Tesla and Amazon and Shop and GME shmoes that came out with zillions, while I feel good, there's also a meh aspect when comparing to the outsized performance of some of these.

weed...but you already knew that.

the other sector I love is biotech...I think medicine is about to leapfrog into the next era. Mrna, genomics, cancer treatments...I need to do more research....or I can just buy what the Queen (Cathie Wood) likes.

So far, in my LT folio, I own OCUl, NVTA, and PSNL. They're all up bigly, especially PSNL..up over 300%

Biotech has always struck me as just so crazy risky. All it takes is the FDA to say one thing about a drug you've got on the market and you tank like there's no tomorrow. I've seen Biogen for one just totally nosedive with the slightest bad news. And then drugs go generic after a while and so you kinda need the pipeline to be busting out some new big treatments every so often. Very hard to do. I've always shied away.

Yeah and those opportunities are nice and all but when the market craters, those are the names that will get hit the hardest in most cases. I'm enjoying this but I know it's too good to stay true for too long.

you're getting very solid returns without taking on too much risk

you can't expect your divy paying banks to outperform stocks of the day like TSLA....

as a buy and holder by nature, banks are better a fit for you than nosebleed valuation stocks

honestly, being able to sleep at night is not a small consideration

mind you, I sleep extremely well at night with 50% of my folio in weed stocks that trade on a crappy exchange. I think most of the investment world has it wrong...and the Prestos have it right

I agree...that's why I own NVTA and PSNL...they're in the gene sequencing/dna/data business

I mean... Based on my math, they're still growing consistently at around 15% every quarter. Should be another 15ish% for the upcoming quarter, though I haven't fully crunched the numbers yet. In a single state that isn't even rec legal. Madness.

PS: This twitter account is hilarious

for sure...the high growth stocks take a beating in down markets...as investors turn to Campbell Soup

that's what makes cannabis stocks so fucking delicious...they are high growth but selling at Campbell Soup multiples

that's why I sleep at night

Yeah there's a structural inefficiency built into those stocks. Exploiting inefficiencies is my scene in all walks of life so I'm enjoying the fuck out of this run.

Only around 10% of my holdings are outside of tech. I’m a big big believer of the tech space. The bit that I hold in banks and energy is just to provide some income that I use to buy other stuff. I guess that my low risk version of the churning you guys do.
