The Fucking Offseason Thread - Why bother waiting?

So hard to find that we have two blue chips behind them who we have no room to play. We shouldn’t be losing good fast young forwards after what we just witnessed. We should be losing one of those two guys on D and trading Muzzin.
 
Yeah. We have a very good, deep, cheap D. Don’t see how that is a bad things.

middle 6 wingers are a dime a dozen.

Hopefully that’s it - nab a guy who Seattle has committed to take to make sure you keep dermott.

How many D do we need?

We have two young D guys who are blocked. We have zero young forwards who are blocked.

Deal from a position of strength. If middle 6 wingers are a dime a dozen, why were we basically unable to find any good ones all year?
 
We just traded a prospect nobody cares about for one.

they have no long term commitment to Dermott or Holl they aren’t blocking anyone. Sandin took playing time from Dermott in the playoffs. If they are good enough like Sandin they’ll play. If not we still have good dmen.
 
Just getting home and digesting some of the news. Definitely a bit surprised they didn't protect the player they just picked up because I genuinely liked the McCann pick up.

But I think ultimately they set it up so they walk away with three of Kerfoot/Holl/Dermott/McCann instead of just being left with two. I'd prefer Seattle take Kerfoot.
 
They’re protected now. If Seattle takes Dermott, who cares you have Sandin. If Seattle takes Kerfoot or McCann, who cares you have McCann or Kerfoot.

the only possible downgrade from the organization from the expansion draft is the loss of a mid level prospect. That’s a win.

Then I would choose to lose from D, where we have an excess of bodies. I've always been one of Dermott's biggest fans, but if he goes, Sandin slides in, no problem.

If McCann or Kerfoot goes, then there's no one to really take their spot. We're back to being just like last year, except minus Hyman most likely and looking for cheap castoffs to sign.

I like the first scenario much better than that.

Except we have Sandin & Timmy....losing one of Holl or Dermott would have been fine given our depth chart. If we lose McCann our LW situation (or 3C, take your pick) looks fucking grim.

I mean, 2 years in a row and we can't score goals in the playoffs, sooner or later we're going to clue in that we need forwards other than just the big 4, right?
