Trump insiders only tell us what really happened when they are under oath or trying to sell a book. Otherwise there's nothing in it for them. They also make sure that they themselves are the hero in any story, the one non-crazy person in the room. Of course Barr, despite testifying that Trump was off his nut, did nothing at the time to try and stop him and has recently said that he would vote for him should he run again in 2024 so he can go fuck himself.

At some point, Republicans realized that their supporters were the same brainless idiots who were getting fleeced on a weekly basis by televangelists like Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Bakker, Ernest Aingley, Oral Roberts, Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell. So the first thing they did was invite them into the tent so they could learn how to do it. Now these evangelists are part-preachers and part-politicians while politicians are part-preachers. This is where the so-called "prosperity gospel" came from; the blending of neocon economics, rapacious capitalism and fundamentalist Christianity into one, humongous, all-encompassing, non-stop grift.

I tend to be a bit of centrist. Trump is a fascist. He needs no impeaching. He needs to be placed in a catapult and shot to the moon. Or perhaps Elon would be kind and send him on a solo reconnaissance trip to Mars.
