Les Habitants Prospects Thread

I would be legitimately curious to find out what would be required to get Zegras out of Anaheim, assuming neither side wants to budge.
Verbeek’s been trying to “beef up” the team, and there’s been rumors for a while now about discontent of Zegras’ lack of defensive acumen

Hughes is on record saying he’s now willing to overpay for talent in terms of picks & assets - Hughes and MSL also know Zegras very well, Hughes even coached him

I get Zegras is not the elite 90pts+ fwd everyone’s clamoring for but familiarity w MSL and the concept he’s trying to implement would help growth IMO.

IF available, I’d be comfortable offering up:

Anderson + D prospect (not Guhle / Hutson / Orville Redenbacher) + Fwd prospect (not Slaf) + 1st rounder (top-10 protected)

All these F1 offers would be exceeded by any other team who wants Zegras

Truth is, until part of the Habs deep pipeline turns to gold, we’re not a great trading partner for a team trading an elite player

Our current trading comfort zone, besides getting futures, is targetting falling blue chippers like Dach and Newhook

Exactly , Habs dont have enough depth to pull this off

This is a move you make when the core has more talent and ready to be competitive

To me, in terms of where they slot on a team, Suzuki & Zegras are one & the same. Cue the Pointing Spiderman meme.

They're average sized #2 centers on contending teams. I prefer Suzuki to Zegras.

I know the Habs would never do it, but what I wonder is, would a trade built around Suzuki for Zegras be possible?
