But....

.63ppg from a middle 6 player isn't bad, it's good. .63 from a star player is abysmal. But you can get two players like Sam Bennett for Mitch Marner's money, so the comparison is Bennett + what else you do with the spare money left over vs Marner, not Bennett vs Marner.

One lesson I've come out with from these playoffs is that we need at least two dirtbags who can play and not hurt us with stupidity.

I guess Domi can pass for one if we had to, but we need one or two more. If Marner is leaving, maybe just throw the money at Bennett and Marchand and hope they earn their keep.

Yeah it just showcases the different expectations. And puts some cold water on the ridiculous 10m+ for Bennett people that are all over the twitters.
