When I grew up it was Habs Boston. Toronto was irrelevant.

For a short time, those Battle of Quebec (regular season or playoffs) were incredible to watch.

Man this is when it pays to be the only person who didn't block wehave. Guy was puffing his chest after game 1, being a fake Jonas Oilers fan.

I also said, and have said since last year at this time, that the only impediment to the Oilers winning the Cup is the ECHL caliber goaltending they've got. If I had been the GM, Skinner would have been launched into the sun last summer. But he's a hometown guy who everyone likes, not dissimilar to how everyone wants to keep Marner because he's a Toronto kid.

Both teams are paying the price for this type of thinking.

I was at the Good Friday Game. Best game I ever attended live.

I can also recall a preseason game vs the Nordiques at the Forum, circa 1986 that drew over 18,000 fans and had the atmosphere of a game 7.

These are the same pundits who think expanding the playoffs is cool.

If you want to get the playoffs over with sooner, allow fewer, not more, teams into the playoffs. Either that or go back to the old system where the first round was a best of 5 with 4 games in 5 nights.

Should come with receipts of all the agents and players that have commented on taxes being an issue to playing in Canada. He has the connections to interview player and continuously bring up the topic until he has the no-state tax issue forced to be solved

If they actually pushed the series, rather than delaying like 4-5 days between rounds, they could easily shave a week or more off the post-season calendar. It might not quite get you to awarding it before June 1, but we'd probably be done already and the Leafs "Best Loser" banner could already be at the printer's shop.
