20 years of Ovie resulted in exactly one cup. And that is all that matters.Who gives a shit if you win one cup. Just one.
The Leafs could play hard ball. "If we don't get Marners' name on a contract by July 1, we won't be offering him one."Imagine if Mitch does go on some tour to visit teams and doesn't sign till mid July?
I'm almost fascinated by the decisions of Marner's people. Cancelling the charity and maybe now doing this? They just don't care how they look. The Leafs could play hard ball. "If we don't get Marners' name on a contract by July 1, we won't be offering him one."
I thought it bombed a bit on Kadri doing that. Teams need their answers quickLets see if holding up the market back fires on him.
its also really dumb though to antagonize the biggest hockey market out there, and the one where you could stand to earn the most off the ice...I'm almost fascinated by the decisions of Marner's people. Cancelling the charity and maybe now doing this? They just don't care how they look.
I don't think the market for him is gonna be close to what he thinks it shouldLets see if holding up the market back fires on him.
That probably means that he is one of the "passengers" that Matthews was referring to.Bieber has unfollowed Marner on twitter LOL
Even if he finds a suitor for $14m or more, it's not going to be a team with a chance to win since they'll have too much money allocated to their other stars. And if they need to ditch a couple of top players to fit him in, then they wouldn't be improving, so what's the point.I don't think the market for him is gonna be close to what he thinks it should
I mentioned this early on in the season when I pointed out that the players looked miserable, but I think there may be some rift between Matthews and Marner. Something seemed off in their interactions, and then the whole 4 Nations thing happened, and then those last few awful games of the Florida series. I can't help but wonder if their relationship got strained this year and part of what we're seeing is due to that. That probably means that he is one of the "passengers" that Matthews was referring to.
he is getting paidLets see if holding up the market back fires on him.
me thinks regime wants him to fuck offEven if he finds a suitor for $14m or more, it's not going to be a team with a chance to win since they'll have too much money allocated to their other stars. He's really going to show us who he is now. Does he really just care about the money and nothing else, or does he want to win, and does he value his situation with the Leafs? I still won't believe he's the type to take $14M to bolt to Utah. I have to think this is all still just an effort to leverage things up against the Leafs and resign at the price he wants.
