OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

But if we move Poeltl in the deal we’ll be right back looking for another big. Didn’t we learn the last time we had no bigs?

I don’t even want KD. Too old.

The only wrinkle regarding Jake is that he's entering his last guaranteed year on his current deal. If his ask on an extension is dumb, I'm not against taking advantage of his value now and taking a swing on some weirdo analytic upside plays to replace Jake. Though I'm not particularly horny on KD being the value for Jake + RJ.

Fwiw, guys who look interesting and are UFA, RFA, or otherwise probably available in trade: Bol, Day'ron Sharpe, Bitadze, Vucevic, Nurkic

The bigger issue re: KD is that he's going to want an extension and while there's something resembling a chance that his scoring is worth something close to a max deal this year, extending him at a max is fucking loony.

I just don't see this being viable from Masai's standpoint and it really does smell like the Phoenix front office playing games to try to get more out of the teams actually interested in Durant. Everything here is just plausible enough for it all to make sense if you don't stop to actually investigate it

- Raptors are looking to make an impact move and do 2 or 3 for 1 type trades
- Raptors have been interested in KD in the past when he's been available
- KD has always said nice things about the city and the franchise, was a Vince Carter/Raptors fan growing up
- Raptors have the contracts and a lottery pick that would be roughly the trade value the Suns want for KD if you squint a little bit

All a Suns front office smokescreen imo.

There has been smoke that Toronto would be a "3rd" team in to help facilitate sooooo..... 2+2=4

That might be more likely if we can turn RJ into something we like more. But I'm struggling to see a scenario between us, the Suns and one of the 3 teams Durant prefers that would work.

I've heard rumours about Sengun, but Houson can't be that stupid to include him, he's their best player whatever they think about Amen being their star of the future. I've heard more plausible shit involving Jalen Green and his upside is definitely higher than RJ's, but I don't know if he's better right now.

Maybe getting Wiggins and Ware from Miami as part of the deal and flipping RJ + Jake + 9? I just don't see an obvious move that aligns with what we've heard about the Raptors goals this off season. They want to get better and be a playoff team this year.

Prime KD is over , needs to be a super 6th man or at best the third banana on a contender

He doesnt defend a statue , I think he fucks us up more than help

Suns are trying to recoup the fuckery they gave up , teams are fools to give up 50% of that package in return

The best package they're going to get is probably the Miami package. Allegedly it's Wiggins, Robinson, and Ware.

People are comparing KD to the Kawhi situation, but a few things

This Durant isnt as good as that Kawhi

This Raps team isnt as good as that raps team

Kawhi might have taken a bit to convince to come here, but is nowhere near the bitch malcontent Durant is, who i assume would have next to no problem demanding a deal mid season where you get 45 cents on the dollar you paid for him. It aint the same gamble.
