2025-2026 Off Season Thread - The Rehappening

This is pretty great tbh. Literally every single factor points to last year being a pretty fluky off year.

And he spent almost no time with the top forwards in that org (Keller/Cooley/Schmaltz/Guenther), and certainly never spent any time with a guy like Matthews. It'd almost be a surprise if he didn't bounce back up over the 2p/60.

And he actually seems to be dependable defensively (like most finns are tbh), not some all-offensive risky player.

With regards to Maccelli, I only briefly saw while out and about that Treliving had acquired an 8 goal/18 point winger with a $3.5M cap hit and naturally jumped to the assumption he was some big shitty talentless plug, but Tree liked his heart, leaderbeans or the cut of his jib, or some shit.

On further review, there’s obviously some potential there.
 
If we ditch Kampf/Krok and add Roy, we have about $10m capspace left with only one forward slot needing to be filled.

Honestly, the Leafs need some fun back in the room. Reaves' DJing just wasn't enough. With the morose and miserable vibe they gave off all year, Marchand going in and bringing life to them again is probably worth more than anything he'll do on the ice. We really have to hope he makes it to tomorrow and wants to come home. He's critical.

Marchand at 9 million would be that stupid move. This is the type of chance to take I’ve been talking about. Get the next Reinhardt, Bennett.

Now we have the cap space to take some chances. I wouldn’t call this one lighting cap space on fire. I still think they should be keep Robertson. Give him a shot in the Marner spot and see how that looks.
