I figured that was an intentional bit, until you said they never got it back up and running! That would've been amazing if it was a plan and it resumed.The show was probably better, tbh, as it didn't require an overarching plot.
I was lucky to have seen the movie at its North American Premiere (TIFF) with a fanatic Midnight Madness Crowd.
So much laughter, couldn't really hear every 3rd line of the movie.
Then things got weird -- the projector broke halfway thru. Borat walked on stage and blamed the Jews. He and Micheal Moore tried to entertain the crowd while repairs were attempted (the movie never resumed)
But until the mishap, it was non stop laughter that was contagious in a way that only a packed house can provide. Naked Gun was like that too.
I saw it with a big crowd here, and it was madness in there, same thing, couldn't hear a lot of it. But even then, I was like the show is better, the reason being the unscripted aspects are the whole charm of it.
