2026 NHL UFA/Trade Thread

He has enough $$ now, he needs to show balls and go to market. Edmonton will panic and give him 3 mill more per yr. I don't want him in Toronto as 97 and 34 would be the best 1-2 centre combo since 99 and 11. However, watching some people melt down and become deranged if it did would be fun.

Draisaitl is better than Matthews. So 97 and 29 are therefore the best 1-2 center combo, not 97 and 34.

If and when he leaves Edmonton, especially if he leaves having not yet won a Cup, his focus will be on that, not the Leafs pyjamas he wore when he was 5. He will go to a tax free team that's loading up for a serious Cup run.

Has no one but me even bothered to notice that the Leafs are beginning their inevitable decline? Their window is closed. Marner leaving is the beginning of the end for them. I wouldn't trade the Habs roster for theirs.

He isnt going to Toronto and join a bunch butterflies with a defence on the wrong side of 30

If he is going to market stop the fucken charade and tell the Oils to move him

We aren't obssessed with the Leafs. We like and care more about our own team and if Leafs winning a cup meant we could win one, we would take it. You would rather die never winning again if it meant the Leafs never win. That's the difference between you and us.

Yes. The difference is that I know that the most important thing is always to deny the Leafs what they want. Besides, our being able to win is not tied to the Leafs being able to win. In fact, if they win we can't and vice versa. They are in our way. We need them to lose. Them signing McDavid doesn't help us win. It helps prevent us from winning.

please, you would be happy with us not winning as long as they don't, Even when they weren't in our division, you preferred them losing to our winning
