He missed significant time with injury twice last year and turns 32 this season. He's missed time with a moderate to major injury almost every season of his career. Giving him the contract he wants now to save a few hundred K compared to what he'll cost next summer if he has a good year isn't worth the risk imo.
Comparing his situation to the superkids is a bad take "we always wait". Waiting to lock up a 21-22 yr old and a 31-32 yr old injury prone goalie aren't the same thing.

It feels like the lull in activity for the past month has made us all forget about Kampf, Jarn, Robertson, and any potential trades or remaining signings (Roslovic). There's still some work to be done, and maybe Stolarz is part of it with a cheaper than expected short term extension. Hard to believe the season is only a month away, and guessing training camp is in a couple of weeks or so. Feels like the Florida series was five minutes ago.
