Finished Bear S4. Sort of the same treading water issue throughout but I think three very good episodes, all focused on the family stuff of course. Not sure the implications of the finale because I don’t think he’s actually leaving, but if he did there’d be no show left worth watching.

I saw it when it came out in 75 and went to see it again a couple of weeks ago in IMAX. It really holds up. A classic.

I remember as a kid that the paperback was on every beach chair that summer. I've read it and it differs a little from the movie.

In the book, Matt Hooper has a one off sexual encounter with Sheriff Brodie's wife. The book alludes to her unhappiness with her marriage. She was once part of the rich boy, rich girl set who would spend summers near Amity and she would up falling for the local cop, having kids, and being stuck there.

Also, in the book Hooper (the Richard Dreyfus character) ends up also being eaten by the shark, this preserving her secret.

It doesn’t get more serious than killer sharks.

I went to a Jaws screening in Lake Ontario a few years back was cool watching in on a floatie.

Also, how the fuck did Robert Shaw not get an Oscar nomination? Academy is ridiculous thinking you should only get a nomination for a serious drama.
Well, the guy who did win the Best Supporting Actor Oscar that year was George Burns for The Sunshine Boys, which was anything but a serious drama.

One of the other nominees was Jack Warden for Shampoo, another film that will never be confused with Hamlet.
